"Write it down..."
That's what I was told.
They were talking about simple ways of monitoring sleep in the home, something that has become a bit of an interest of mine.
I seem to have lots of ideas to try out, and various experiments to conduct, but I am pretty sloppy when it comes to writing things down, so the ideas and results stay in my head.
For me, sleep monitoring in the home began when my son was paralysed in 2000 at the age of 15 months. He was discharged from hospital with an oximeter to monitor his oxygen level during sleep because it repeatedly fell and rose overnight due to his condition.
This led me to look deeper into his sleep issues and then to take a look at my own sleep. Since my early teenage years I've experienced sleep paralysis, vivid hypnagogia and more recently lucid dreams.
This blog is an attempt to do as I was told and write it down.
It's a work in progress and I'll add to it as I have time.
